Frozen Forums is now reading the full CAHL standings feed straight from chillerstats.com. As of today, the league system stretches across 30 active divisions with 287 teams registered. Most divisions have one game on the books. A few are already two deep and the gap is forming.

Early leaders, undefeated through 2

Six divisions are far enough in that a leader has separated with a 2-0-0 record:

  • Monday D · East: Beaver Taps (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Monday D · West A: Columbus Chupacabras (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Monday D · West B: Native Sons (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Tuesday B West A: Beauties (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Tuesday B West B: D-Icers (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Tue NTPRD Chiller B: Reapers (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Wednesday B East: The Chicken Selects (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Wednesday B West A: T5P Hockey (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Wednesday B West B: The Wobbly Pirates (2-0-0, 4 pts)
  • Thur NTPRD Chiller C: Ohio Warriors (2-0-0, 4 pts)

Sundays are crowded

Sunday remains the busiest night in CAHL with eleven separate divisions running. From Sunday B East through Sunday C South C, every league has one game in the books and the table is essentially flat. Acura Columbus sits atop Sunday B East. Whisky Warriors lead Sunday B West. The Sunday C divisions have not separated yet but Sunday C South C runs 16 teams deep, the largest single division in CAHL right now.

Thursday is the largest weeknight tier

Thursday spans Thur NTPRD Chiller C, Thursday C East, Thursday C North, Thursday C South, and Thursday C West — five separate C-level divisions, 54 teams in total. Thur NTPRD Chiller C jumped out fast with the Ohio Warriors going 2-0-0. Goalies booking ahead will want to know that Thursday is where C-level demand is heaviest.

By the numbers

High school is in pre-season

The three High School divisions (East, North, West) are seeded but games have not started. New Albany leads the East seeding, Bishop Watterson Eagles top the North, New Albany JV sits at the top of the West. Worth watching once games begin.

Women's league

Six teams registered. No games played yet. Cyclones at the top of the alphabetical bracket until results land.

What this means for the rest of you

If you are a goalie in the pool, the divisions with the deepest team counts (Sunday C South C, Thursday C South, Thursday C West, Sunday C North B) will generate the most spot openings as the season tightens. If you are a captain shopping for a sub, the leaders above are real teams running real shifts — recruiting from a team that just beat yours is allowed and arguably traditional.
