CAHL state of play: 18 teams still perfect, Thursday C North is a five-way knife fight.

Four weeks in and the table is crowded. Eighteen teams sit at 4-0-0, three divisions are stacked four deep at the top, and Thursday C North has five teams tied to the point. The next two weeks will thin it out.

Four weeks into the session, the league is past the warm-up. Most divisions have four games on the board, the perfect records are getting harder to keep, and a few divisions have turned into a genuine scrum. Across all 30 active divisions, here is where it stands.

Still perfect

Eighteen teams have not lost a game. The cleanest starts in the league, by division:

Two divisions, Sunday C South B and Wednesday B West A, have two perfect teams apiece. Those are the collisions to circle. Somebody's record ends when they meet.

Thursday C North, the best race on the board

Most divisions have one team out front. Thursday C North has five. Brian's Bail Bonds, Dead Batteries, The Thursday Knights, Barons², and Purple Koolaid are all sitting on 6 points. Nobody has cracked it open. The first team to string two together owns this division until someone takes it back. This is the tightest race in the league right now.

Two more logjams

Thursday C North is not alone. Tuesday B West A has four teams knotted at 6 points: Heat, Merchants of Beer, The Holes, and the Beauties, who separated early last month and have since been reeled back in. Tuesday B West B is the same story, four teams at 6: Cocktails and Dreams JV, Reacharound, Pylons, and D-Icers. Tuesday night in the B West buildings is the most crowded top-of-table in the league.

Loudest offenses

Some teams are just outscoring the problem. Through four games:

Stingiest defenses

The other way to win. Fewest goals against, three games or more:

Monday D is where the goaltending lives. Four of the six stingiest teams in the league skate Monday nights.

Sunday is still the giant

One hundred and five teams play Sunday, more than every other night combined in some buildings. If you are looking for a game, a sub spot, or a roster opening, Sunday is where the volume is. Thursday is the next biggest at 47.

Still chasing the first win

Two dozen teams are 0-fer through two or more games. Four weeks is nothing in a session this long. The team that is winless today and figures out its lines by week six is the team nobody wants to draw in the back half. Striking distance, not a verdict.

High School and Women's

The high school divisions and the Women's League are seeded and scheduled but have not put points on the board yet. Brief note for now. They get their own look once games are played.
