Three weeks in and the early-season picture is starting to set. Across all 30 active CAHL divisions, most already have a team out front, a handful of defenses have barely been scored on, and a few races are still a coin flip. Here is where it stands.

The teams lighting it up

Forty-one teams are still unbeaten, but a few are doing it loudly. The Chicken Selects sit 3-0-0 in Wednesday B East with 28 goals for and a plus-18 differential, the biggest in the league. T5P Hockey (Wednesday B West A) and DK Brewzers (Sunday B West) are right behind them on the scoresheet. If you want offense, those three are the early show.

The teams that don't get scored on

The other way to go 3-0-0 is to lock the back door. The Ice Hawks have given up one goal in three games in Monday D West A. One. Beaver Taps, Brew Jackets, and the Red Knights are all sitting on three goals against or fewer. Hawaii 5-Hole has surrendered two through a pair in Sunday C East. Offense fills a highlight reel. Defense wins a division.

The best race on the calendar

Most divisions have one team out front. Tuesday B West B does not. Five teams are knotted at four points, nobody has pulled away, and the next two games will sort out who actually runs it. It was the best mini-race in May and it is the best one now. The first team to win two in a row owns the division until someone takes it back.

Sunday C North A, Sunday C South B, and Sunday B West have their own logjams, three to five teams deep on points. Plenty of season left to break them.

Three weeks in, the league is already telling its own story. The Chicken Selects are scoring at will, the Ice Hawks have stopped scoring the other way, and Tuesday B West B is a five-team scrum that refuses to settle. The next two weeks will say a lot.
