If you found us, welcome. Frozen Forums is the Central Ohio hockey community that should have existed five years ago. We finally got around to building it.

For too long, the way to find a sub goalie at 8 PM on a Tuesday was to spam four Facebook groups and a group chat your phone barely remembers. The way to sell your kid's outgrown skates was to post into a feed an algorithm decides nobody sees. The way to find a coach, a clinic, a rink, a league, a team, a tournament, a captain, a goalie, a pickup game · it was thirty different places, none of them ours.

Hockey deserves better. So does figure skating. So do the parents driving an hour to 6 AM ice. This is the place we're building for all of it.

More than forums. It's your home ice.

What's live today

The site is opening with the spine of the community already in place. None of this is a coming-soon promise. It's already here, already running, already yours to use.

• Forums (forums.frozenforums.com) · the actual discussion engine. Beer league, CAHL, club hockey, gear talk, training, CBJ, college, high school, figure skating, roller. One account, every conversation.
• Goalie Pool · goalies post when they're free, captains find them in two clicks. No more group-chat begging.
• Looking for Goalie / Looking for Player · captains post a need, the pool gets a nudge, first goalie to claim it gets the game. $5 for paid broadcasts that ping the whole pool. Free posts go to the ticker.
• Free Agents · new to town or between teams? Drop your info. Captains building a roster find you here.
• Classifieds · player gear and goalie gear, separated like they should be. Used and new. Brand, model, size, colorway. No store dumps in the casual feed.
• News · this section, right here. Rink notes, league updates, gear, youth, coaching, CBJ, the stuff that actually matters in our barns.
• Events · clinics, tryouts, tournaments, learn-to-skate. The Central Ohio ice calendar in one place.
• Player Cards · a free identity page for every member. Premium tier adds more depth.
• Rink Locations · every Central Ohio sheet, mapped, with the info you actually need.
• Hockey 101 · never too late to learn. Programs, gear, coaching, community.

• Goalie Kit Builder · click your way through a goalie silhouette to lock in your kit, then get matched to listings as they appear. Nothing in hockey commerce does this. Yet.
• SMS alerts via the Goalie Pool · email first, text next. Speed matters when a game is 90 minutes out.
• Ad-free buyer tier · pay a few bucks a month, see zero sponsored placements. No theater, no exceptions.
• Team Sites · league-branded team pages with rosters, schedules, stats, and a built-in sub list.
• Local Business Directory · pro shops, sharpeners, coaches, skating clubs, and the people you actually want to give your money to.
• Verified Player, Goalie, Coach, and Captain badges · trust marks earned, not bought.
• Recruiting · club, youth, college programs put the call out to the families looking.

The ground rules

A few non-negotiables, because every community needs them.

• One account, one identity · your forum profile is your site identity. Same name, same face, everywhere.
• Buyers and sellers are the same people · you'll list a stick this month and buy pads next month. The site treats both as one human.
• No commission on Classifieds sales · a flat $2 fee on a sold listing. SidelineSwap takes 10%. eBay takes 13%. We took the math and made it fair.
• Ignore a seller · one click and their stuff disappears for you, sponsored or not. Money buys reach. Money does not buy stalking.
• Notifications are minimum-viable on purpose · we don't want to be the app that pings you 40 times a day. We want to be the place you check because something good is there.

How to help us get going

Communities need people. Here's what gets us off the ground.

• Register on the forums and introduce yourself.
• If you captain a team, request your Team Captain badge so you can post LFG broadcasts.
• If you tend goal, join the Goalie Pool and set your availability.
• Have gear sitting in a bin? List it. Sell what you grew out of. Buy what you've been needing.
• Tell your bench. Tell your group chat. Word of mouth is how a hockey community grows, and it always has been.

Why we built this

Frozen Forums was built by a Central Ohio hockey player, for Central Ohio hockey players. Skaters, tenders, parents, coaches, refs, beer leaguers, juniors, AAA kids, learn-to-skate adults, the figure skating club that practices on the back sheet at 5 AM. All of us.

We didn't build a generic sports app and stick the word hockey on it. We built the thing we wished existed every time we drove home from a 10:45 PM game and remembered there was a stick to sell, a goalie to find, a coach to thank, a rink schedule to figure out.
